ABOUT AURELIA

Two disciplines. One company.

Aurelia Maintenance was formed when Founder & CEO Gert Rossouw and Managing Director Louis Rossouw merged their two companies — Packaging Maintenance and Ekhethelo Maintenance — into a single mother company built to cover both sides of plant reliability: mechanical and electrical.

LEADERSHIP

Meet the management team

Two engineers, two very different routes into the same trade — and the successes that brought them together.

Gert Rossouw

Founder & CEO

  • DisciplineMechanical engineering
  • BackgroundLeadership roles across the Food & Beverage industry
  • FocusHigh-end projects, KPI-driven improvement

Gert built his name on mechanical systems that couldn't afford to fail — the kind of packaging and processing lines where an hour of downtime shows up directly on the plant's bottom line. That track record, running high-end mechanical projects for major Food & Beverage operations, is what grew Packaging Maintenance into a business worth merging, and it's the same standard he holds Aurelia's mechanical work to today: measurable, KPI-driven, and built to last on the plant floor, not just on paper.

Louis Rossouw

Managing Director

  • DisciplineMillwright — mechanical, electrical & instrumentation
  • BackgroundLeadership roles across the Food & Beverage industry
  • FocusHigh-end projects, KPI-driven improvement

Trained as a millwright, Louis earned his reputation the way the trade demands it — by being equally competent in the electrical panel, the mechanical drivetrain, and the instrumentation that ties them together. That full-spectrum grounding, sharpened over years leading high-end Food & Beverage projects at Ekhethelo Maintenance, means a fault gets diagnosed once instead of being passed between specialists. It's a big part of why Aurelia can take on a plant's mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation problems as one job, not three.

Mechanical + Multi-Discipline. Gert's mechanical experience and Louis's millwright-trained range across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work have proven, project after project, that Aurelia Maintenance leads the field in specialised equipment maintenance, conveyor maintenance, project management, and site services and supplies.

WHERE THE MERGER LEADS

Four disciplines, one contractor

What each service line actually covers — and where it fits on a plant floor.

01

Specialised Equipment Maintenance

Mechanical and electrical coverage for the equipment other contractors are reluctant to touch — process equipment, pumps, drives, and control systems that sit outside a general maintenance contract's scope, serviced by the same millwright-trained range of trades the company was founded on.

  • Preventive programs built around OEM specifications and real duty cycles, not a generic calendar.
  • Predictive & condition monitoring — vibration analysis, infrared thermography, oil analysis, and ultrasonic testing to catch degradation before it becomes a failure.
  • Reliability-centred maintenance (RCM) — matching a maintenance strategy to actual failure modes and criticality, asset by asset, not one policy plant-wide.
  • Emergency & breakdown response for the failures that happen anyway, with parts logistics built to minimise time to restart.
  • Full mechanical, electrical & instrumentation coverage on the same asset — one team, one diagnosis, instead of two contractors and two invoices.

Where this appliesRotating equipment, pumps and drives, process control systems, and packaging and processing lines across Food & Beverage and related manufacturing sites.

02

Conveyor Maintenance

Keeping product moving, line by line, shift by shift. Conveyor systems are one of the most common sources of unplanned downtime on a plant floor — and, with routine inspection, one of the most preventable.

  • Routine inspection for the most common failure modes: mistracking, slippage, tears, splice separation, material carryback, and seized rollers.
  • Belt tensioning, tracking & splice repair to keep a line running true rather than drifting toward a stoppage.
  • Roller, idler & bearing replacement, scheduled ahead of failure rather than reacted to after it.
  • Drive system maintenance — motors, gearboxes, and the drive components that keep a conveyor moving at the right speed and load.
  • Thermal & vibration inspection to catch a seized roller or a failing bearing while it's still a five-minute adjustment, not a replaced belt.

Where this appliesBelt conveyors, roller conveyors, and other material-handling systems across packaging, processing, and distribution lines.

03

Project Management

High-end projects run by directors who have delivered them before, not handed off to a junior once the contract is signed.

  • Scoping, planning & scheduling for capital and maintenance projects, built around the plant's actual production calendar.
  • On-site supervision from Aurelia's own directors and senior artisans, not third-party site agents.
  • KPI-driven delivery — measurable targets for uptime, output, and plant efficiency set at kickoff and tracked to completion.
  • Multi-discipline coordination across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation trades and subcontractors.
  • Documentation & handover — as-built records, commissioning reports, and a maintenance plan for what's installed.

Where this appliesEquipment installations and upgrades, line relocations, shutdown and turnaround projects, and multi-discipline capital works.

04

Site Services & Supplies

The parts and people a plant needs on site, when it needs them — the practical support work that keeps a maintenance program running without gaps.

  • Skilled artisan placement — millwrights, electricians, and mechanical fitters supplied to site on scheduled or ad hoc terms.
  • Spares & consumables management, shortening the gap between a failure and a repair.
  • Inspection records & compliance documentation — calibration certificates and audit-ready maintenance logs, always current.
  • Site housekeeping standards that support safe, efficient maintenance work rather than working around clutter.
  • Flexible coverage — scheduled shifts, weekend cover, or standby arrangements matched to a plant's risk profile.

Where this appliesAny site that needs consistent access to skilled trades and maintenance materials without carrying the full overhead of an in-house team.

LEADERSHIP FOCUS

What Gert and Louis are building next

For Aurelia's directors, growth means more capability and more trained hands — not just a bigger head count.

01

Growing Local Talent

Employing local, talented artisans and developing them through the same skills and development structure our directors and current team of 30+ staff already provide.

02

Full-Spectrum Coverage

Extending Louis's millwright-trained range across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work, alongside Gert's mechanical depth, into every project Aurelia takes on.

03

KPI-Driven Delivery

Holding every project to the same measurable standard both directors built their careers on running high-end Food & Beverage projects.

04

Scaling Without Losing the Craft

Growing from a medium-to-high enterprise toward a large one, with Gert and Louis still personally involved in how the work actually gets done.

It's a directors-led plan: Gert and Louis are personally building the training pipeline that takes Aurelia from where it stands today to a large enterprise, without diluting the hands-on standard the company was built on.

Best possible product output. Best possible efficiencies.

That's what contracting Aurelia Maintenance for your plant is built to deliver — backed by directors who've run KPI-driven projects across the Food and Beverage industry, and a growing team of skilled artisans behind them.
